As Transparent As The Wizard Of Oz
The following linked article exposes one of the most obvious lies coming from the current administration regarding transparency. Here are a couple teaser quotes to get you started:
An Associated Press examination of 17 major agencies’ handling of FOIA requests found denials 466,872 times, an increase of nearly 50% from the 2008 fiscal year under Bush.
On March 16 to mark annual Sunshine Week, designed to promote openness in government, Obama applauded himself by issuing a statement: “As Sunshine Week begins, I want to applaud everyone who has worked to increase transparency in government and recommit my administration to be the most open and transparent ever.“

Who was that person that said something about a lie being told often enough can then be perceived as being the truth? It’s right on the tip of my tongue. Oh, now I remember (thank you Google); it was Joseph Goebbels!
“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
Hey, if it worked for Nazi Germany, it should work here, right?
