Health Care Reform Regardless

  • Sharebar

So, with the house strong arming their version of health care reform through under the cover of the weekend, many are scratching their collective heads asking the question “is this Constitutional?”.  Well, it is not Constitutional and they know it.  Fact is, with the current “community organizer” in the White House, it should come as no surprise that union-style tactics would be applied here.

If any of you are or have been employed with union representation, you know full-well the process invoked whenever contract negotiations come around.  Much of the wrangling that takes place in regards to the language of the agreement often get tabled until a more convenient time (which never comes), all in the name of “moving forward” for the good of the business and employees.  This is one example of how our elected representatives are looking at what they have done.

Another example:

Whenever an employer is desirous of moving forward with the business, they often come up against violating the language of a union negotiated contract.  Many times they just move ahead with their planned business agenda, deciding to deal with the violations after the fact.  The result is often seen as being protracted out over a period of time that can take longer to resolve than the stated goal of the employer.

In other words, what Pelosi and Company have done, especially when so many of them are lawyers, is take the chance that their plan will get signed into law before the opposition can mount a defense.  And as such, they know full well how long litigation proceedings can take.

I guess they might as well take that “Mission Accomplished” banner they complained about that was hanging behind former President Bush out of mothballs and hang it behind the Speaker’s podium!  It undoubtedly will have the same effect.

P.S. The following is from the latest Glenn Beck email.  Pay close attention to him pointing out the rousing success we can expect from health care reform when compared to how well government has done regarding Social Security and Medicare, both trumpeted by Ms. Pelosi as shining examples of past government “successes”.

Nothing like sneaking a massive healthcare bill through the House on a Saturday night. Probably not a bad idea considering Nancy Pelosi compared this bill to the passing of Social Security in 1935 (payroll tax collections will begin to exceed benefits paid in 2016 and it will go bankrupt by 2040 or sooner) and Medicare in 1965 (promised to cost 12 billion by 1990 – it was 90 billion and is now $468 billion). It’s like starting an energy company and saying ‘we’ll be just like Enron’ or going on a date and hoping he’s ‘just like BTK.’ The good news is it looks like the bill will have a tougher time passing the Senate.
