Today’s post has a link to an article that reveals something we should all ponder before charging ahead with this whole ‘alternative fuels’ idea.  Here is a quote from the article:

According to the standard, every liter of biofuel must reduce emissions by at least 35 percent compared to burning a liter of fossil fuel.  However, the study claims that palm oil, the most common form of biofuel, effectively increases emissions by 31 percent because of the carbon released when forests are turned into plantations.

So, basically, the very trees that not only consume CO2 (carbon dioxide; you know, what we exhale) but store it, would release it into the atmosphere in great quantities when cut down.  Also, those same trees that contain all that CO2 while still alive produce something we all need to survive: oxygen!  Here is the link:

It still amazes me how socialistic Europe is but still manages to release so much information contradicting the direction our current leadership here in America desires to lead us!  Must have something to do with experience?
