What Peak Oil?
Well, it seems that there is still some oil left to discover after all. The following quote is a lead-in to a link to the full story:
It is normal for companies to discover billions of barrels of new oil every year, but this year’s pace is unusually brisk. New oil discoveries have totaled about 10 billion barrels in the first half of the year, according to IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates. If discoveries continue at that pace through year-end, they are likely to reach the highest level since 2000.

Even though there has been a concerted effort to make us believe that we have seen peak oil and will soon experience a downturn in availability, there are many out there who say that is nonsense. The following is an article that takes the position that, contrary to popular opinion, there is an infinite amount of oil available. In fact, they believe the earth continues to produce it!

Consider this quote from the article:
A study published in Science Magazine today presents new evidence supporting the abiotic theory for the origin of oil, which asserts oil is a natural product
the Earth generates constantly rather than a “fossil fuel” derived from decaying ancient forests and dead dinosaurs.
If this is true (and there is the distinct possibility that it is) we may well see a true revolution in energy availability. There is also no doubt that the powers that be will do anything to thwart our access to abundant energy in the name of “saving the planet”.
