Eating Brown Rice Can Reduce Diabetes

If you enjoy a bowl of white rice, consider switching to brown rice and you could effectively reduce your risk of contracting diabetes.  According to a recent study released by a Boston-based research team, among a group of adults that were studied over a 22 year period, it was discovered that eating white rice presented a higher risk of Type 2 diabetes; whereas an increased consumption of brown rice lowered that risk.

By definition, Type 2 diabetes is diagnosed by the presence of high blood sugar levels as a result of the body not being able to process sugar properly.  Diabetes can be controlled, but only through diet and exercise and / or with drugs, depending on the severity of the disease.

Fad Dieting and Your Health!

Even though the word ‘diet’ can bring up some uncomfortable images of either eating like a rabbit or hardly anything at all, it actually refers more to the types of food that you eat.  It is often a combination of both protein and carbohydrates eaten together to stoke your metabolism and thus help you drop the pounds.
