With all the flap over Tim Tebow and his mother featured in a Super Bowl ad discussing her decision to choose life for Tim, the following link with video shows just how far we have come in the last 23 years of addressing the issue of abortion:

The problem with our ‘progress’ has been to not defend the defenseless unborn but the mother’s ‘right to choose’ as long as it is to choose abortion.  That includes partial-birth abortion; a procedure that allows all but the baby’s head to be born and then have the base of its skull punctured and the ‘contents’ sucked out.

Yes, you have come a long way, baby!  But only if by meaning ‘baby’ you are referring to the mother…..

Since this film was produced 23 years ago, we have added another 30 million Americans to the obituary columns in the name of ‘choice’.  That’s 30,000,000 folks!

I heard it said the other day: when we stand before God and ask why He didn’t give us someone to find the cure for AIDS or cancer or famine or any of a number of woes in the world, He will reply “I did, but you kept killing them before giving them a chance”.

Oh, yeah; here is a link to a discussion between Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar on the View trying to make sense of it all.  Pay close attention to Ms. Behar’s response:

Boy, if that isn’t a reason for killing!  The thought police are out in force on this one…..

And we wonder what has happened to our county and our culture……

May God forgive us…………..

PostHeaderIcon Women’s Groups Blast ‘Divisive’ Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad — Without Even Seeing It (With Update Update)

Unbelievable!  So the NOW gang and other feminist groups are protesting an ad to air on Super Bowl Sunday paid for by Focus on the Family featuring a mother who, against all odds, decided to give birth to her son, who went on to receive the Heisman trophy, as ‘divisive’ and ‘controversial’!  And they admittedly have yet to see the ad!!  Talk about emotional bias!!  Here is the link to the whole story:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,583999,00.html?test=faces

Here is a quote from Jehmu Greene, spokesperson for Women’s Media Center:

“Abortion is very controversial, and the anti-abortion vitriol has resulted in escalated violence against reproductive health providers and their patients,” Greene said. “We’ve seen that clearly with the murder of Dr. George Tiller,” the late-term abortion provider who was gunned down in his Kansas church in May 2009.

So, even though I do not advocate violence against anyone as a way of solving the issue, I need to ask: compare the rightful outcry by Ms. Greene about the murder of Dr. Tiller with those who rightfully cry out for the 4,000 defenseless babies aborted every day in the name of ‘reproductive rights’!

Read the whole story and you will see many ‘other reasons’ why these so-called crusaders for women’s reproductive rights are up in arms.  Among them: he is from a Christian family, his father is an ordained minister,  he was home-schooled and he paints bible verses in his eye black.  Sounds like all you would need to call them terrorists and lock them up!

Have we gone mad?

Contact CBS and thank them for not backing down on this one.

UPDATE

It appears that the heat has officially been turned up on CBS.  A gay dating service has submitted an ad that promotes same sex dating between men on their web site.

CBS is still ‘reviewing’ the ad for possible airing.  Could this be nothing more than a blatant attempt to trot out the ‘double standard’ mantra?  Stay tuned…..

UPDATE UPDATE 1-30-10

CBS has chosen not to run the 30 second ad submitted by Mancrunch, the gay dating service.  Everywhere I looked today regarding their decision, the article included the commercial.  It seems to me that Mancrunch is getting a lot of free publicity and maybe they should just sit down, shut up and smile.  By the way, here from Wikipedia is a quote about the two ‘controversial’ ads being run:

Two advertisers in particular raised eyebrows with their choice of being in the biggest telecast of the year outside the 2010 Winter Olympics. One new advertiser, Focus on the Family, will have a commercial featuring 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mother that has drawn criticism from women’s groups who have asked CBS to cancel the ad because they believe it will be divisive. So far, CBS is going ahead with airing the advertisement. The other proposed sponsor, ManCrunch, a gay dating site that bills itself as a place “where many many many men come to play,” had expressed interest in purchasing a 30-second advertisement, which would have shown a male Packers fan and a male Vikings fan reach into the same bowl of popcorn at the same time, and after a brief pause, begin passionately kissing and dry humping each other, much to the disgust of the other men present. ManCrunch’s ad, after initially being put on a waiting list, was rejected by the network because it did not meet CBS’s broadcast standards.

I couldn’t help but notice how ‘generic’ the reference was to the first commercial, not spelling out anything specific, other than the supposed ‘divisiveness’ accusation by some women’s groups; but, the reference to the second ‘controversial’ commercial was verrrrry specific (see phrase in bold) and no reference to any groups protesting the possible ‘divisiveness’ of that (other than the disgust expressed by the other men in the commercial)!

Also, I could not find any news article that were willing to run the pro-life commercial within their article.

No double standard there!!
